10 Reasons Why We Love The First Two Bioshock Games

8. The Atmosphere

Atmoshpere While you walk through the city, you continually get the sense that some bad is about to happen. The areas of shadow give the space for something to be lurking in of course. But the game has other touches to give a sense of darkness. The constant leaks and running water are intended to remind the player of the underwater setting, while also giving the impression that the structure could collapse at any minute. One of the audio dairies reinforces this impression in the early stages by saying that once Rapture starts leaking, it won€™t stop. The graffiti also creates a sense of unease. Seeing €œAbove All, Do No Harm€ written in blood outside a surgery is not a good sign. In Bioshock 2, Rapturehas been decorated with the ominous slogans of the cult in the game such as €œLamb is Watching€ and €œWe will be Reborn€.
