10 Reasons Zelda: Skyward Sword Is WAY Better Than You Remember

8. Combat Feels Amazing

Yeah, I said it. Go ahead and link your favorite incoherent screaming YouTube video you prefer. All I ask is that the other side of the argument be heard.

This game could not exist without the Wii Motion Plus. Skyward Sword lives and dies on its combat feeling like you're actually making real movements with your sword.

Thanks to the Wii Motion Plus, the remote and sensor bar are able to pick up and process far more complex movements than before. What this means is that, if you miss a swing with Link's sword, it's because you flat out swung it wrong.

Sure it wasn't perfect, but only by the metric that no control scheme is completely perfect. But as long as you actually listen to what the game is telling and showing you during combat encounters, and don't just swing wildly like a moron and blame the game when you inevitably get your ass thrashed, the combat is some of the best feeling in the entire Zelda franchise.
