10 Reasons Zelda: Skyward Sword Is WAY Better Than You Remember

9. One Of The Best Links

Even though Link is meant to be an empty vessel for the player to slot themselves in for the adventure, recent games have made more of an effort to insert subtle bits of characterization into the silent elf boy.

Hardcore Zelda fans have learned to pick up on these hints, and have thus been able to discern personalities for each version of Link. From Wind Waker's knuckleheaded goofball, to Breath Of The Wild's feral survivalist pyromaniac, and then we have Skyward Sword's Link, a slacker with a tongue as sharp as his sword.

At various points in the game you're given the usual yes or no responses to certain conversations that we've had since Ocarina Of Time. But the game, subtly copping to the fact that these choices really don't mean anything and everyone knows it, instead puts a third option into each of these responses, wherein Link proceeds to roast whoever he's talking to.

Sure the sarcasm is pretty basic, but again, this isn't exactly the most energetic Link (I imagine if Zelda didn't drag his ass out of bed every morning, he'd sleep through the whole game) so him putting in the minimal effort even into insulting people scans.
