10 Ridiculous Arguments Against The Biggest Games Of 2013

6. Gran Turismo 6 Should Have Been On PS4

When the announcement was made that Gran Turismo 6 would be releasing solely on the PS3, the world was shocked. Why wasn't it a PS4 launch title, or in the very least, why was there not the announcement of a planned PS4 version later down the pipeline? The web soon set alight with angry Gran Turismo fans proclaiming that Polyphony Digital were basically throwing their own credibility away (as they sorta already did with the last game's horrendous delays and underwhelming final result) by lazily opting for the "lesser" platform of the PS3. It's important to remember that while we all would have loved a PS4 Gran Turismo game on launch, the development of these games take years, and Gran Turismo 6 had been in development long before any dev-kits for the PS4 would have been ready for experimentation. Of course, we can't forget that Gran Turismo 3 was a launch title for the PS2, and easily one of the best launch titles in in gaming history too, but that regrettably seems to have been a bit of a fluke as far as the development window for these games is concerned. Still, had GT6 been a PS4 title, we likely would have been waiting another 2 or 3 years for it, and I imagine the routine complaints, that the cars are just upscaled versions of the PS3 counterparts, would still persist. To expect a PS4 GT6 on launch was a pretty tall order anyway, but from a company like Polyphony, it was reaching for the stars. Though it might not be the best game in the GT franchise, GT6 is still a lot of fun and another fine addition to the PS3's respectable swan song collection last year.
