10 Ridiculous Gaming Rumours That Never Came True
2. Jumping Over the Pole In Super Mario
The infamous flag pole has been a key feature in the Super Mario video games and its first sighting was in 1985 appearing in the Super Mario Bros. title. In fairness it is something when faced upon, you try your very best to get to the tip of the pole for the ever so craved "1-UP" and in fairness to itself, it wasn't too easy to get either, something I found to be true many, many times.
There are people who may have "said" that they have jumped over the pole, probably even a friend of yours has said this once, but when you ask them to prove it, they just cant do it again. This has always been debated on the internet and amongst friends, however it has been proven that it can be successfully done, but with a twist as the player simply reaches the castle, with the prevention of advancing until they climb the pole. It is an extreme rarity for any player to leap the pole, but the fact that you can jump the flagpole and get a bonus level or extra reward is total hogwash and for anybody to say this is telling fibs as there was never any given result for a user to jump the flagpole as it never meant to happen. To summarise, you can technically break the laws of the game, but to no actual avail as the game will not allow you to advance until you have actually climbed the pole. By clicking the picture, you can see a video of somebody actually jumping the flagpole and you can see for yourself what happens.
