5. Magikarp (Might) Crush Your Enemies
Magikarp is famous among Pokémon fans for two reasons: it can eventually evolve into the powerful Gyarados, and its almost completely useless in battle. If it werent for its incredibly strong evolved form, Magikarp would barely even qualify as a Pokémon. Magikarps most iconic (for lack of a better word) ability was Splash. This incredible move allowed Magikarp to splash around in the water, dealing zero damage and having zero effect on the defending Pokémon. In what presumably started as a joke, a rumour was circulated that Splash had a 0.00001% chance of insta-killing the defending Pokémon with a devastating blow. Some poor souls even prevented their Magikarps from evolving into the actually useful Gyarados, believing that a max-level Karp would gain an improved from of Splash. These Magikarp enthusiasts were left with little more than a useless fish and hours of frustration.
