10 Ridiculous Video Game Puzzles Everyone Cheated For

9. The Piano - Silent Hill

The Silent Hill series has boasted its fair share of mind-melting puzzles over the years, with Silent Hill 3's Brookhaven keypad and Shakespeare Anthology puzzles both testing players' mettle in particular.

But there's a puzzle in the series' very first game which proves especially soul-draining, and that's the piano puzzle found in Midwich Elementary School.

The middle piano keys are covered in blood, and the player is required to play the correct series of notes in order to retrieve the Silver Medallion, unlock the Clock Tower and venture to the Otherworld.

The solution to the puzzle lies in a poem found on the classroom blackboard, where five voiceless birds correspond to five silent keys on the piano. The poem cryptically hints at both the colour of each bird/key and the order in which they must be pressed.

This is absolutely one of those puzzles you just need a pen and paper for, but even then, the obtuse nature of the poem itself makes it a trial-and-error headache.

Or you can save yourself hours of hassle and just find the solution on YouTube within a hot minute.
