10 Ridiculous Video Game Puzzles Everyone Cheated For

7. The Water Trap - Onimusha: Warlords

Onimusha: Warlords is a wonderful game, and if you've never played it, you absolutely owe it to yourself to check out Capcom's recent remaster.

That said, you'll also want to make sure to spare yourself hours of anguish by looking up the solution to the game's infamous Water Trap puzzle.

Basically, protagonist Samanosuke ends up trapped in a room slowly filling with water, and it's up to his assistant Kaede to solve a sliding block puzzle before he drowns.

The goal is clearly explained - to move two golden crest pieces down to the middle-bottom of the board, but doing so requires some impressive mental chicanery and preternatural calm under pressure.

If the stress of the time limit isn't enough, you've also got to deal with an anxiety-inducing soundtrack, ensuring that many players were stumped until they went online and found a guide.

Needless to say, with the game originally releasing in the pre-YouTube era, it wasn't quite so easy to explain the solution.
