10 Most Ruthless Serial Killers In Video Games

1. Jacket - Hotline Miami

When you actually get down to explaining the appeal of Hotline Miami to someone, it can be a little troubling. Somehow even though you're playing as a psychotic killer in a variety of animal masks, it works - it really, really works. Hotline's gameplay consists of top-down neon-drenched slaughter replete with a thumping Drive-style soundtrack that pulsates and brings the whole thing to life in a way that's insatiably unique. Once you've played and experienced the white-hot thrills of clearing a few sequential rooms of goons in a blur of blades and gunfire, as some nondescript foot-stomping track backs the whole thing, you'll never go back. Throw in a great story about the true nature of what's actually going on, alongside some narrative switch-up where later on you'll take over as a previous boss character and go down a different path, and the entire package is one of the most satisfyingly brutal titles in existence. Are there any we missed that you loved tracking down or playing as? Let us know in the comments!
