10 Scandals That DESTROYED Fallout 76

1. Not Enough Compensation For An In Game Canvas Bag

Fallout 76
Bethesda

To make up for the lack of a canvas bag, Bethesda offered some in-game currency to soften the blow. The fact the game was hollow, glitchy and the storefront unnecessarily expensive has already been covered, but it wasn’t just those factors which made Bethesda’s compensation so ridiculous.

They offered 500 Atoms to spend in the game, something which barely counts as compensation anyway, as it requires you give that money back to them. Equivalent to $5, it hardly covers the cost of a canvas bag in real life either.

However, the worst part of this was that there was a canvas bag in the game... for 700 atoms. Their measly payout wasn’t even enough for a digital one.

Added to this, specially selected ‘influencers’ or ‘unboxers’ were sent the as-advertised canvas bag in the first place, with Bethesda claiming limited numbers forced their hand. Again, this felt like putting profit before consumers in such a money grubbing way that they may well have lost some customers for a long time.

Eventually, Bethesda did promise that everyone who preordered the expensive Power Armour Edition would get the original canvas bag, but even that had the caveat of a four to six months waiting period.
