10 Scariest Horror Video Games Of The 90s - Ranked
3. Clock Tower
Another point and click game with more of an action-oriented gameplay style than the others, Clock Tower cast players in the role of Jennifer Simpson, an orphan who suddenly gets adopted, along with a few of her friends, by a wealthy and mysterious individual named Simon Barrows.
The girls move into their new mansion, known as the Clock Tower, but quickly realise that they need to get out at all costs as they suddenly start getting killed off, one-by-one. As Jennifer, you have to unravel the mystery of the mansion and find a way out, all while avoiding one of the creepiest characters in gaming history.
Every great hero franchise needs a good villain. Resident Evil had Nemesis, Silent Hill had Pyramid Head, and Clock Tower had Scissorman. A psychotic little boy wielding a gigantic pair of scissors, Scissorman appears unexpectedly over and over again throughout the game, forcing Jennifer to run and hide in order to survive. The game had creepy music and some really intense sequences, but Scissorman was the key factor that made Clock Tower such a scary experience.
