Volgin is a brutal foe. The lightning-powered Soviet GRU colonel is one of the strongest physical fighters in the Metal Gear series. He's brutal too. Not averse to launching a military coup or firing a nuclear weapon at a research facility, this guy takes no prisoners. More accurately he does take prisoners but the way he treats his captives and enemies throughout the game demonstrate his commitment to violence.

While taking on an electrified man-mountain is scary enough on its own, the way Volgin's character has been built up throughout the game lends an extra dash of spice to this battle. It's firmly established through the game's earlier events that Volgin is a practically invincible monster. That does make beating him down especially satisfying.
