10 Scariest Video Game DLCs Ever

1. Outlast - Whistle-blower

Dead By Daylight
Red Barrels

Outlast has been talked to death in all its forms but you can’t pretend that this isn’t for good reason. As off-putting as of all the hype (and some fans’ continued insistence that the first of this Red Barrels franchise is the Single Best Horror Game To Ever Exist) can be, the fact remains that the first Outlast game really is quite fantastic - and it is not let down by its DLC.

The Whistleblower DLC reached fans just over a year after the main game’s release, serving as a prequel to Miles Upshur’s infamous trip to Mount Massive Asylum. The player character is Waylon Park, an employee at the asylum who sends his whistleblowing email to Upshur after spending years watching the awful doings of the Murkoff Corporation.

Once again the player is unable to engage in combat, only armed with a camcorder and a furious will to live. Set in Mount Massive Asylum, the player is immersed in the same terrifying location as before but now with added areas and villains. One particularly horrible villain is Eddie Gluskin, a psychotic criminal set on capturing Park and mutilating him to turn him into his ideal ‘bride.’

Perhaps the worst thing about all this is that Eddie Gluskin has a notable fan-base, with some truly cursed fan-art floating around the internet made in his honor. Whatever floats your boat, I guess?
