10 Scariest Video Game Moments Nobody Saw Coming

2. Alan Wake's Unmanned Bulldozer Fight

Alan Wake
Remedy Entertainment

It's a real shame Alan Wake didn't sell the number of copies it deserved to, because Remedy created one of the most unique IP's on Xbox 360 back in 2010. The story was rich, the atmosphere was eerie and the gameplay solid. Oh yeah, and it's also the only game we know of in which the main character fights an evil digger with a flashlight.

Sending shadowy perps back to the underworld with the magic of light is one thing, but taking on a rogue bulldozer that's out for blood is another. You got us there, Remedy. There's no way anybody was expecting to fight an unmanned vehicle during this horrific romp through Wake's own struggles with writer's block.

The way the bulldozer crashes through a chain link fence is majestic. Who would have imagined that some heavy machinery attacking you would be one of Alan Make's proudest moments? Somehow, despite it being ridiculous, this boss fight had us gripped.
