10. Silent Hills P.T's Talking Fetus

Curse you, Hideo Kojima. Not for falling out with Konami and causing the eagerly-anticipated Silent Hills to be canned, but for toying with our minds by including a bloody talking human fetus in your P.T demo. We didn't need to see that, and we certainly didn't expect it when creeping round your eerily quiet house of horrors.

The nausea-inducing fear that came from playing P.T stemmed from knowing you were going to see something worse than before each time the same rooms looped. Gamers could just about stomach ghostly figures or generous amounts of blood, but an unborn baby with a rich, throaty voice speaking to us from a bathroom sink? Forget it.

There's a chance you missed the fact that voice was coming from the fetus, at least until looking closely at the thing's mouth. It moved, and that sent a chill from the tips of our toes right up to brains that couldn't comprehend what we were seeing.
