10 Scariest Video Game Moments Of The Generation

9. Reliving Childhood Fear - Resident Evil 2 Remake

Scariest Moments Of The Generation

Stepping back into Resident Evil 2 thanks to the outstandingly good remake that dropped in 2019 was something of a dual dose of fear for many.

For a start, it was an impeccably well-made survival horror action game with scares aplenty, but secondly, it was also a chance for many fans to relive the fear that had been deeply instilled thanks to the original Resident Evil 2.

This game haunted my childhood. I played it way too young (thanks Dad) and as a result, feel a pure sense of dread set in the moment I ever step foot in Racoon City, and thanks to the remake, things got even worse.

Now the zombies were more resilient, the action was more up close and personal, and there was a teeny tiny issue in the form OF A GIANT TRENCHCOAT fool BATTERING ME UP AND DOWN THE PLACE.

The entrance of Mr. X is one I'll not be forgetting, nor the moments in which I was grabbed, bitten, eviscerated, torn in two, or just plain burned to death during this experience. It's a perfect remake and a perfect encapsulation of fear itself.
