5. Foxy - Five Nights At Freddy’s

Speaking of murderous heaps of metal, Five Nights At Freddy’s has plenty of mad animatronics just waiting for a chance to chop you into pieces!

The original game became a hit thanks to its unique gameplay, which made you fear for your life, despite always sitting in one room.

In Five Nights' At Freddy's, you play as a security guard watching the cameras at the titular pizzeria and staying vigilant against a group of haunted animatronics that come to life every night.

Each animatronic is quite scary on their own, but it has to be Foxy that takes the title of the most effective at tormenting the player.

The reason for this is that Foxy has his own special mechanic which forces the player to pay more attention to his antics, unless they don’t want to end up mauled by his sharp teeth. Whereas the other animatronics remain still when you watch the cameras, Foxy can decide to bomb rush the entrance to your saferoom if he is close enough. If you can’t catch him in time, there’s no amount of frantic button pressing that can save you.

Foxy’s mechanic makes the entire game feel more erratic, and it disturbs the routine the player learns during the first night at Freddy’s pizzeria. This is why Foxy is mostly the animatronic that everyone who's played Five Nights at Freddy's remembers the best. He forced the players into a new stressful situation they had to learn to deal with, and for that reason, he deserves to be called the most effective monster in the first game.
