10 Secret Gaming Areas You Never Knew Existed
9. Warden Quincy Sharp’s Room (Arkham Asylum)
When Arkham Asylum came out in 2009, it earned universal acclaim for its depiction of Batman in a gaming setting. The combat, gadgets, voice acting, and story were everything a player could want from a game where you take on the role as the World’s Greatest Detective.
Another great feature of Arkham Asylum was the use of a detective system that required Batman to find clues to deconstruct a crime scene. But one mystery that eluded Batman and the player was gaining access to Warden Quincy Sharp’s secret room. The room didn’t show up on any of the maps and the entrance couldn’t be seen with the Dark Knight’s detective vision.
Rocksteady eventually revealed the room was located at the end of a corridor in Arkham Mansion. To access the area, players needed to use the explosive gel. Once inside, Batman could find plans to Arkham City.
What’s brilliant about Quincy Sharp’s room is that Rocksteady had already planned to reward diligent players by giving them a sneak peek of the sequel. There might not have been any achievements or unlockable items, but fans got a glimpse of what was to come.
