6. The Cardboard Boat Guys - Marvel's Spider-Man
You probably didn't expect Insomniac's 2018 Spider-Man game to be particularly scary, but those who dared to explore the Manhattan shoreline just might've stumbled upon a most grotesque group of NPCs.
One of the boats sailing near the shore has three men onboard - well, we call them men, but they're really crude cardboard abominations pretending to be human beings.
Take a closer look and you'll see that the "men" have low-poly heads that look rather reminiscent of the hilarious polygonal character models from GoldenEye 007 on the N64. Furthermore, they don't have any hands or feet. Terrifying.
If you assumed this was just Insomniac being a bit lazy, think again, because they decided to include these secret NPCs in 2020's remastered version of the game, albeit with a cute little wink at curious players.
Head to the same spot and you'll see the guys still look disturbingly half-formed, but Insomniac stuck a Post-It note to one of their jackets which reads, "Did you miss us?" Genius.
