Juggling enemies is arguably the most well-known feature in the Devil May Cry series. This feature, which inspired similar mechanics in other games such as the Prince of Persia series, was actually inspired by a bug from Onimusha: Warlords.

According to producer Matt Walker, during the production of Onimusha: Warlords, they found a bug that made attacking enemies while they’re in the air would make them stay afloat. Although the game wasn’t supposed to do that, Walker realised that it was actually cool.

The bug was removed from Onimusha: Warlords but later became the basis for Devil May Cry's iconic "juggling".
