Obviously, this had to appear on this list somewhere. The secret ending in Far Cry 4 is probably the most iconic secret hidden in plain sight in recent video game history. It became such an iconic gimmick, in fact, that every other Far Cry game afterwards had to include one as well.

During your dinner with Pagan, the main antagonist of the game, the player is left alone in the room, as Pagan needs to excuse himself to torture an unwanted guest. The player has the option to stand up from the table and leave, starting off his thirty-hour long fight against Pagan's regime, but they can also wait for their host to come back. If they choose the latter option, after approximately twelve minutes, Pagan will come back to the dining room and then take you to your mother's future resting place, where the credits roll and the game ends.

The best part about this ending is that Ubisoft has confirmed it is the canonical ending to Far Cry 4. It makes sense, as an average person would probably prefer to quietly obey a guy like Pagan Min, as opposed to getting involved in the bloody war against him.
