10 Secret Video Game Endings That Took INCREDIBLE Effort To Unlock

9. Swimsuit Samus - Metroid

Metroid Samus
Nintendo

The original Metroid is well-noted for its brilliant twist ending, where it's revealed that galactic bounty hunter Samus Aran is really a woman. But Nintendo actually included a number of different endings depending on how long it took the player to beat the game.

The quicker the ending, the more of Samus was revealed to the player, and those mighty enough to beat the game in less than an hour would get to see Samus kitted out in nothing more than a skimpy swimsuit.

Simply beating the game is a mean enough feat, but doing so under such intense time constraints? Madness.

It was certainly an interesting incentive, though, and back at the time of Metroid's release, we naturally didn't have the likes of YouTube to gawk at Samus without putting in the hard graft first.
