9. You Can Play The Piano
This is a simple, cute little feature that has been memed
halfway to hell at this point.
Within Half-Life: Alyx, inside The Northern Star hotel, past the zombies, there is a piano in the lobby. This is the same hotel you blow up the first vault generator, too, if that helps.
Most players likely saw the piano. If you didn’t, you might have seen videos. In summary, though, this is a working instrument inside a VR game. Now, it’s not to say Half-Life did it first, by any means. However, anyone who knows how to play the piano or keyboard in real-life will be able to bang out some tunes for Russell over the headset.
He jokingly asks for Flight of the Bumblebee. The joke’s on him, though, considering there are videos of people actually playing it. Among that, there’s been Portal’s Still Alive, the simple but timeless Still Dre and obviously, Half-Life’s own Triage At Dawn.
