10 Sega Mega Drive Games You Forgot You Loved

1. Flashback: The Quest For Identity

You may have spotted this one sneak onto Xbox Live recently as a completely remastered game, but that new contender can't hold a candle to the original. Flashback pits you in the shoes of Conrad, an amnesiac dude in a dystopian sci-fi setting. Although it sounds quite generic, the Another-World-esque graphics and hostile feel of the world make this title instantly memorable for anyone who played it. This game also requires you to really think about what you're doing; there's regular puzzles, tricky jumps, deadly enemies and sparsely-placed save points which you'll go back to every time you die. Along the way you'll explore alien jungles, visit a run-down futuristic city, take part in a reality TV gameshow where it's a fight to the death, regain your memories and even enter a hostile alien world to blow it into tiny smithereens. Conrad also has access to a large selection of items, including a protective rechargeable shield, teleporter, credits to buy stuff and even a humble rock or two used to distract enemies before you shoot them down.
