After roughly your third time of losing the game, and being eaten by a animatronic animal containing the spirit of a murdered child, you may start to realise that Five Nights At Freddy's is a pretty dark game. Indeed, your horror experience hinges around you taking the game seriously, as in order to be scared you have to consider a bunch of vaguely hilarious pizza place robots your worst nightmare.

But all the best horror contains an aspect of comedy, and Five Nights at Freddy's is no different. In your time at Fazbear's pizzeria, you should get a phonecall at the beginning of each night. While these calls do reveal crucial information about your new robot enemies, they're also important in another way: they're hilarious.

Because the 'Phone Guy', as he's known to fans, goes between being super blasé about the risks of the job, to giving extremely detailed legal warnings at the drop of a hat. In his attempts to make the restaurant seem like a legitimate business, it becomes all the more clear that it's sketchy as all hell.

However, as the only other person you interact with the whole game, you do form a strange sort of bond to the mysterious voice on the phone. Which makes it all the more tragic when he dies to the exact same haunted animatronics on night four.

Rest in peace, weird phone guy. Thanks for the laughs.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
