10 Settings Assassin's Creed Could Go To Next

3. Rome

Assassin's Creed has genuinely taken on almost all of the most significant periods of history throughout its titles, but one massive omission is that of the Roman empire.

This unfathomably influential part of history has been put to game and film countless times, and thus it comes as a surprise that Ubisoft hasn't explored it themselves yet. There is no time like the present, and their next title could be the perfect opportunity to finally breach the gates of Rome.

There is an instant appeal for this setting that comes in the form of the wonderful architecture available for free-running. The grand coliseums and tall structures would allow for some truly breathtaking sequences and could garner some of the greatest leaps of faith that the games have seen.

Additionally, there are some compelling historical characters to be seen, such as Mark Antony and Julius Caesar. Getting the chance to be involved with the famous assassination of the latter is a historical event destined to work for the franchise.

There has been talk about a Roman Assassin's Creed before, and even a little bit of time spent there in Brotherhood, but a full-on title would be be the right direction to go in.
