10 Signs You Might Be THE WORST Video Game Enemy

2. Are You A Damage Sponge?

Nothing acts as a bigger middle finger to the player than an enemy that simply shrugs off your attacks as if you were firing BB pellets at them, and yet so many video games seem to incorporate this logic. The thinking behind such a high health pool is to make the player think that the enemy in question is almost super-powered, but the issue is that it quickly becomes annoying when you're landing shot after shot only for the big boys to keep on tanking.

Some enemies can do it well such as The Tanks from Left4Dead, as here the high health makes sense, but some enemies will have a tonne of health despite their weak-looking appearance. Take for example some of the REGULAR enemies you can find in The Division and its sequel.

These grunts can, and will, simply make that Leonardo DiCaprio meme face and walk through your bullets, maybe shielding their heads after you level thirteen headshots on them. Maybe. It's disheartening and becomes rapidly boring. Vermintide 2 has a great example of how to do this right. The Chaos Knights are heavily armoured but hit them in the head and it only takes a few strikes to bring them down.

Jules Gill hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
