10 Single-Player Video Games With Insanely Underrated Multiplayer Modes

"How exactly is Guitar Hero III a single player game?" you ask. Well, it had a career mode that technically had an inkling of a story, and it was before the whole "band" phenomenon that grouped people together into groups of four, too.

When it comes to the multiplayer, admittedly it was very basic. You had your classic score duel where you would square off against another player as you both tried to score the most points on a song. When both players were playing on expert and had a handle on things though, it was extremely enjoyable.

The other mode, which was new to GH III, was Battle Mode. This was essentially Score Attack, but instead of trying to do better than the other player, you had to try and make them do bad enough to fail the song.

This was done through power-ups you acquired just like you would Star Power. Some power-ups would let you turn the notes coming down backward into a lefty-flip, or you could make every single note a double note and so on. While it wasn't for everyone, when two people very closely matched in skill would go 1-on-1 in this game mode it would be one of the more entertaining things to watch let alone be a part of.
