10 Skill Upgrades That BROKE Video Games
7. Bloody Mess - Fallout 4
The Bloody Mess perk has been present in Bethesda's Fallout series since the very first title, however, it was in Fallout 4 that it really began to flex itself as one of the most overpowered skill upgrades going.
The most memorable thing about the perk is the fact that it makes an enemy completely explode, with blood and guts flying everywhere when they die. But, whilst it is a meme-worthy effect that has become infamous within the Fallout community, the splattering of an enemy's entrails is purely aesthetic.
What isn't a purely cosmetic effect however is the incredible damage increases that are made possible by the perk. The only perk in the game that universally increases damage, and isn't reliant on a specific class of weapons or scenarios. This one detail helps Bloody Mess stand out as one of the must-have perks present in Fallout 4, with the perk for allowing up to 15% extra permanent damage, no matter the weaponry or situation.
Level four of Bloody Mess also carries with it the bonus of enemies blowing up in an insta-kill, if one of their nearby allies has also done so.
