10 Skill Upgrades That BROKE Video Games

4. Elite Ram - Assassin's Creed: Black Flag

In Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, players have the opportunity to upgrade not only their playable character of Edward Kenway, but also their ship, the Jackdaw.

Most upgrades are acquired by completing the storyline and various quests, but also by exploring the massive world finding materials, and acquiring plans from sunken wreckages.

Undoubtedly the most overpowered of these upgrades a player can make to the Jackdaw is the elite ram, acquired in the La Concepcion shipwreck. The difference between the elite ram and the upgrades that come before it is immediately noticeable, with players being able to simply run into most of the game's small-to-mid-sized enemy ships, as well as opening up a duel with the bigger foes by knocking a sizeable chunk of their health.

What makes this upgrade so game-breaking is how redundant this one upgrade makes all the others in the game feel. Simply running into and ramming every enemy ship a player stumbles across might not be the way in which Ubisoft may have wanted players to sail the Caribbean seas, but given the overpowered nature of the elite ram, it's a strategy that players can't afford to pass up.
