9. Getting Spotted In Splinter Cells 1 & 2
I was tempted to stick any of the Metal Gears in here, but Id say with their allowance for a louder approach to the levels, its easier to free yourself from any encounters gone sour. However until Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory ushered in one-button stealth kills, anyone happening across your shadowed frame heralded a hilarious case of you mashing the takedown button, only for a single elbow attack to play out over and over, whilst a particularly rabid guard dog gnashed on your ankles. It became a dividing factor for the series having you either continue as some bumbling secret agent who rolled with a leather-clad punch, or restarted every level to do it right. The fact remained that every time youd spent the last few minutes eyeing up guard patrol patterns only to be foisted by a overly-inquisitive janitor was an experience we were all glad to forget going forward.
