9. GTA Needs To Be More Realistic
The Argument: The goal of the series moving forward should be to get more and more realistic with each passing game. Future titles should include more believable combat mechanics that ensure death if the player is hit with more than two bullets, and down-to-Earth features like cars needing to be re-fueled, the requirement to exercise and eat like in GTA: San Andreas, and so on. Why It Makes No Sense: The whole fun of the series is that it presents a heightened view of a recognisable, semi-plausible world, but with all the boring bits taken out. Having an epic stand-off with the police end in three seconds when a helicopter wastes you in a hail of gunfire would suck, and similarly, needing to re-fuel the car is just tired busy-work that nobody likes doing in real life, let alone in a game. It's difficult to see what position supporters of uber-realistic mechanics in GTA are coming from: after all, the micro-management mechanics in San Andreas were more cumbersome and irritating than fun, and as such it's little surprise that they were removed for future games. GTA is supposed to allow players to do things they can't in real life, not reflect the tragic mundanity of existence.
