10 Stupid Early Decisions That Ruin Entire Video Games

2. Supercars Ruin Progression - Forza Horizon 4

Carving through the Colorado landscape or rumbling around the Mexican wilderness is at the heart of what makes the Forza Horizon series great. It's a celebration of cars first and foremost, but also the freedom that they provide, as the open world always takes centre stage over the crucible of the race track in the Forza Motorsport titles.

Forza Horizon 4 is the best entry in many ways, taking the series to the quaint British countryside, but while it starts players off in a humble hatchback or hulking, slow American muscle car, it quickly gives them something more race-worthy.

In fact, it takes just a couple of hours before the garage can house any number of supercars that soar far beyond the speed limit.

This sounds like fun, but when the fastest cars in the game can be acquired so early, it breaks any sense of progression that the game should have. Instead of working their way up to the top of the Horizon Festival, players are handed what should be endgame content because it ensures the game's opening races are more thrilling.

Making supercars available so early on makes seeing Forza Horizon 4 through to the end a rather pointless task.
