10 Stupid Mistakes Video Games TRICKED You Into Making
2. Letting Fia Hold You (Elden Ring)
Fia's official title is a Deathbed Companion. A Deathbed Companion. Why in the hell did any of us think hugging her was a good idea?
Your first encounter with this NPC comes in the Roundtable Hold in a room next to Master Hewg. She invites you into her space and informs you that if you allow her to hold you, she'll give you a blessing.
Well, a cuddle sounds delightful. Plus, a blessing on top? Score. But this is a FromSoft game, so, of course, there's a catch.
As a Deathbed Companion, Fia is technically an energy vampire. The blessing she gives you, Baldachin's Blessing, increases your damage negation and poise for 15 seconds when used. However, it comes with a debuff that decreases your overall HP. That's right, she steals your health points.
On top of that (Spoiler Alert), if you continue her storyline, she'll eventually betray you, killing D, Hunter of the Dead, and leaving the Roundtable Hold. What happened to all the warmth and hugs? Why, Fia, why?
