10 Stupid Mistakes Video Games TRICKED You Into Making
3. Many Things (Disco Elysium)
Oh, Disco Elysium, never before has making bad decisions been a near-essential part of a video game.
This entry might seem like a cop-out (pun intended), but it's not. There are so many bad decisions to make in this epic RPG, and it actively encourages you to do as many of them as possible. As such, the entire game itself deserves mention rather than any specific moments.
Disco Elysium puts you in the shoes of an amnesiac detective solving a murder in the fictional district of Martinaise. While you can play the game as a functional detective, what it really wants you to do is indulge in the fantasy of being an alcoholic, unpredictable, crazy cop.
Part of this comes from the banquet of stupid things you can do. For example, you can punch people out of nowhere, including the fearsome Measurehead or even kids. You can also listen to your necktie, which speaks to you, use the phone in your partner's car to prank people, go on wild drinking benders, and plenty more.
The fun of this title is in the mistakes you make. It is all but begging you to pick every stupid option available.
