10 Stupidest Video Game Titles Of All Time

8. Metal Gear Solid

Before you start screaming, let me explain that I'm as big a fan of the Metal Gear Solid series as anyone, but the problem with being an unrepentant fanboy is that it's hard to pull yourself away from the series and see its name for the absurdity that it is. Let's break it down into its parts: Metal Gear is the mobile nuclear weapon launcher that the protagonist is tasked with destroying, and Solid refers to the protagonist himself, Solid Snake. So, it's just a random smattering together of elements from the game, then? Even in games in which Solid Snake isn't the protagonist? Right... Hideo Kojima himself complicated matters further by declaring in an interview that the "Solid" of the title actually represented the first time Metal Gear had been displayed as a series of polygons, as it was therefore solid. At least this title is fortunate enough to sound pretty cool, so it gets away with it to an extent, which is more than can be said for the giggle-worthy Snake Eater (the third game) and flat-out ridiculous Ghost Babel (the Game Boy Colour port of MGS in Japan and Asia).
