10 Stupidly Awful Gaming Prisons Staffed By Total Idiots

8. The Flooded District €“ Dishonored

The Dishonored jailers seem to take their inspiration from their less-pixelated, standard-definition bretheren over at Final Fantasy VII's prison insofar as committing shocking oversights is concerned. In fact, the problem seems even worse in Dunwall, as at least the Galbadians had the excuse that they couldn't really empathise with Squall and his mainly-teenage band of androgynous posers. Seeing as he's intrinsically linked to his imprisoned quarry through The Other, Daud has no such excuse €“ he knows exactly what Corvo is capable of, yet still displays shockingly little forethought when it comes to locking up the Royal Protector. So when you know your adversary is capable of flitting great distances and wielding supernatural means to his advantage and you explicitly announce this knowledge to his face, it's probably not the best idea to put him in an open-top 'cell' covered with an easily breakable wooden roof, never mind leaving it strewn with bricks suited to the exact task of smashing it apart. Granted, Daud possibly didn't know Corvo could possess rats €“ it's not an ability they share €“ so wouldn't have been able to prevent that method of escape, but mocking an overseer in the next cell because his broken legs means he can't escape and then housing a guy who can teleport 10 feet in the air like a telekentic salmon in an identical, adjacent cell just smacks of ludicrously poor judgement, a decision only equaled in stupidity by making sure that building was stocked with a bevy of unclaimed swords.
