10 Super Mario Levels That Were Just Plain Unfair

8. The Perfect Run - Super Mario Galaxy 2

One of the most ambitious finales in any video game, The Perfect Run already wins points for being the level that introduced Nintendo to these marathon missions at the end of their games.

Requiring all of the game's 240 Green and Power Stars to even unlock, The Perfect Run is located in Super Mario Galaxy 2's final world, the Grandmaster Galaxy, but will require a Comet Medal from the penultimate level as well as 9,999 Starbits in a player's Banktoad before revealing itself.

Upon entering The Perfect Run, players will immediately notice that they only have one life to tackle this insane course with; true to its name, this level will not allow anyone to get away with a mistake and will send players immediately back to the start with just one wrong move.

The Perfect Run brings together every trick, move and skill learned and shown throughout the game in some truly fiendish ways. From carefully navigating through mazes with Cloud power ups, leaping over disappearing platforms, to dodging a whole armada of obstacles from orb to orb, this is might be a fitting finale to a great game, but that doesn't mean it isn't also ridiculously unfair.
