1. Thor

Featuring in a forgettable PS3 solo game, Marvel's God of Thunder is due an upgrade.

As proven with his successful integration into mainstream cinema, Thor is a character rich in interesting lore. Coming from the mythological realm Asgard, he is surrounded by all manner of drama and intrigue, fighting wars within his own royal family, and with armies of mythic creatures from other realms.

Aside from what’s been covered on film there is much scope for a playable cinematic epic with this character. There are so many creatures and villains for a player to fight in game, so many stories to draw from, and such mighty powers to play with. Marvel has many characters who could feature as allies, enemies, or plot drivers, but there is also Thor’s long history of original Norse myth from which to draw.

The use of his hammer and control of lighting would make for novel playability, and the game could work well if based in an open-world structure, providing the ability to travel through space to different realms and planets.
