10 Terrible Boss Fights That Almost Ruined Video Games

There are a number of tricky boss fights in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and none more so than Taron Malicos, the corrupted Jedi Master who protagonist Cal encounters during his visit to Dathomir.

The only way to derive much enjoyment out of this fight is to crank the game down to Story Mode, where Malicos' ridiculous attack speeds and reach are nerfed, making it far easier to chip away at his health - and actually have some fun with it.

But played on any other difficulty, Malicos is simply cheap and frustrating. As with most of the game's bosses, he's able to cancel your attacks if he's in the middle of an elaborate attack animation himself, and he also possesses the baffling ability to near-instantly replenish his drained stamina if the game wills it.

This can make whittling away his health an exercise in intense annoyance, especially once he begins throwing debris your way. Even with a trio of stims at your disposal - and some help from Nightsister Merrin - this fight is a major pain in the ass.

Making matters worse is that, upon dying, you'll need to sit through a long loading screen (on consoles, at least) and run all the way back to the start of the fight.

Do yourself a favour and bump the difficulty down to Story Mode, because the "satisfaction" of beating him the hard way isn't worth the time out of your day it will likely waste. Life's too short and there too many great games to play, after all.
