10 Terrible Levels That Haunt Otherwise Perfect Video Games

3. The Fade - Dragon Age: Origins

Dragon Age Fade
Electronic Arts

Getting trapped in the Fade might sound like a pretty interesting challenge at first, but Dragon Age: Origins quickly manages to make it suck. Players get sent there by the Sloth Demon and are tasked with fighting their way through different domains in order to escape.

Putting aside the fact that the lazy appearance of this dreamworld is simply regular parts of the game with a sepia tone flushed through them, this part of the game is still terrible. You're forced to work your way through the different domains and acquire different skills to eventually face your captor and escape, but virtually every stage plays out exactly the same.

The mini bosses that await you in these areas are also just as uninspiring, and the sheer volume of time that has to be expended to complete this challenge is nowhere near worth the payoff. The Fade is filler content at its very best, which is so upsetting given how good the rest of this game is.
