10 Terrible Levels That Haunt Otherwise Perfect Video Games
4. The Ice Cave - Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
In the 'Mountaineering' chapter of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, players will have experience just why this game can never be considered truly perfect. Taking Drake's adventure into a desolate ice cave, the events take such a strange turn that you'll start to wonder whether you're still playing the same game.
The ice cave is passable enough, despite stretching the platforming sections of this already hardly believable adventure to its limits, but the fun really begins when it becomes clear something is watching you as you progress. Massacred animal corpses peak Nath's interest about what it may be, but he doesn't have to wait long to find out.
And, when he does, this globe-trotting adventure about an ambitious treasure hunter turns into a scarcely recognisable science fiction affair. Drake battles against a monster in the caves, one that is able to soak up piles of bullets at a time. This is okay, though, because suddenly you'll have access to infinite rounds for your firearm. Cheers, logic.
The fact that the bizarre creature looks like a mix between Star Wars' Wampa and the Predator speaks volumes of the storytelling at this point. This section undoes all of the great work that had gone into the game at that point.
