1. EA Sports
I think we can all agree that EA have developed some sort of monopoly when it comes to sports games, so you'd think with such a large development team and so much money to spend they'd start developing a different game with new features each year right? You know what, sod that; why not just release the same game every year and possibly change a few colours whilst charging your customers a one time fee to purchase the game and another fee to actually play it. EA have already come under enough flak for trying to purchase the exclusive rights for their NFL games and then raise the price over-night so I don't really have to say anymore. EA have a history of buying out the competition and just throwing money at a problem until it's resolved but at least they've finally been caught out for it now and are suffering the consequences. However as long as people keep shelling out £50 a year for a new FIFA game as well as whatever price they're asking for "on-line capabilities" (you know, the stuff that's like giving your friend a controller and playing against him) then EA will keep dominating the market and articles like this will keep popping up. We've created this devil and it seems like we're stuck with him.
