10 Terrible Video Games With Incredible Endings
8. No Man's Sky (2016)
No Man's Sky is not necessarily a terrible game in terms of how it looks, sounds or runs, but its launch remains one of the best (or worst) examples of how to absolutely destroy a game release. Hyped up as the most immersive sci-fi title ever released, No Man's Sky quickly became an example of too much hype, and not enough delivered, with a slew of features being absent from the initial launch.
What it did have, however, was a damn good storyline ending in the game's Artemis Path plot.
Having uncovered the mysteries of the Artemis, the Atlas, and the universe, players are given one final choice between helping to save the Atlas by essentially hitting the restart button, or continuing on their merry way by rejecting the offer. Accepting the offer will see players whisked off to a new galaxy in a new body, though they will still be able to use Space Anomaly's Interstellar Terminus to travel to the galaxy previous, if they have built a base there.
In a main storyline filled with choices to make, this huge one certainly makes for a fitting finale for players to grapple with.
