10 Terrible Video Games You Can't Help But Love
3. Godai: Elemental Force
When your character announces "an ambush" a good ten seconds before the enemies appear thanks to the game struggling to load in assets, and you're constantly floating above the floor because the devs hadn't quite aligned everything, you know you're in for a so bad it's good time.
And Godai: Elemental Force delivers this in spades. The game promises action spectacle unlike no other with you assuming the power of the elements themselves, and you know what? In a way that's true as the combat is so utterly dire, I can honestly say it's unlike anything I've seen before. Take for example the fact that you have to scroll through your spells in real-time which renders you unable to attack, and then when you do get a spell ready the windup is so slow and your magic drain so quick you'd be better off using the melee weapons lying around... which don't connect half the time.
And the camera has an absolute heart attack if you go anywhere near it and swings wildly out of control - exactly what you want from an action game, right? Still, the sheer comedy of basically playing "How not to make a game: The Game" is worth a look.
