10 Things AEW’s Video Game Must Learn From WWE 2K22

7. Legends Are Nice But Not Vital

There's no doubting the fact that those buying AEW's game would appreciate a legendary name popping up here or there. Being able to play as Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson or even Jake Roberts would be a blessing for the thing. Of course, Yuke's grabbing those stars very-much relies on image rights.

They couldn't let fans wrestle as WWF/WWE's Roberts, surely.

That legal stuff all exists in murky waters, but one thing is for sure: AEW fans would be buying an All Elite Wrestling video game to play as the current roster anyway. There's enough of a novelty element to picking Darby Allin, Jungle Boy, Kenny Omega or Britt Baker without cramming legends in there for the sake of it.

In other words, having legends on-disc would be nice but it isn't crucial. AEW: Fight Forever (if that is going to be the subtitle) won't live or die on which golden oldies show face as bonus characters. Nah, it's the current crop that deserves centre stage.
