6. An Up To Date Roster Matters

WWE 2K22's roster was all over the bloody place. Countless names, like Cesaro, Keith Lee, Karrion Kross and more, were already gone from the real-life locker room before release. That left the game feeling outdated on day one. AEW's forthcoming title should do everything it can to avoid repeating that mistake.
Of course, 2K get a slight pass because they were more focused on developing a workable gameplay engine than anything else. Also, Vince McMahon's decision to can half the roster over the span of 12 months didn't help. However, it is true that launching a product out there that's immediately outdated is a questionable tactic, and it's one Yuke's should learn from.
AEW fans will want to play as the stars they're watching on Dynamite, Rampage and pay-per-view within minutes of booting the game up. Grumbles will start to appear if, say... AJ Styles joins the company but isn't available in the game six months later.
