Let's face it, majority of the people who buy either Call of Duty or Battlefield are going to be buying it solely for the competitive multiplayer, and won't even load up the campaign.

It's a sad truth, as the multiplayer aspects of these games has overshadowed the single player for quite some time now. With the majority of consumers only going into the multiplayer aspect, a beta becomes all the more important. By the looks of it, Battlefield 1 will feature an open beta, meaning anyone will be able to step up and have a go, all while providing DICE with information on how to better the game for release.

While there are rumors Infinite Warfare may be featuring a beta, they remain as such, and it would only be the second time in Call of Duty franchise history that an entry has seen a beta - with Black Ops III being the first just last year. So, while it's probably safe to expect a beta from Call of Duty, right now Battlefield has taken the edge by confirming its existence up front.
