3. It's A Much Needed Breath Of Fresh Air

As previously stated, recent FPS games have been nothing but futuristic fast-paced shooters. Doom, Titanfall, Halo 5, and all the recent Call of Duty games all fit this mould.

With the announcement of Infinite Warfare, gamers let out a collective groan as they knew they were going to be getting the same thing yet again. While there are certainly a slew of players who enjoy where the series and genre has gone so far, it's safe to say a lot of them out there miss the way things used to be, when it was all about gun skill and not about wall running and double jumping.

A return to old-school military time periods could be the spark the genre needs, and we could see a new set of likeminded titles released. Just as Modern Warfare was the catalyst thrusting the genre into the modern era away from World War II. Someone had to take the first step back in the right direction, and fans appear to be delighted in EA's decision to do so.
