10 Things Fans Will Love (And Hate) About Mass Effect Andromeda
7. Love: Having Another Badass Krogan Squadmate
There are very few 'moments' in Andromeda on the level of choosing between Ashley and Kaiden, finding out the Archangel was Garrus or watching Mordin die in the process of curing the Genophage, but like any Bioware RPG, it's the non-human species that provide the most fun - particularly as in Mass Effect 3, we never had a Krogan pal to call our own.
Jaal is your new half-squid, half-cat warrior (a standout from the paltry three new races on offer), but alongside him is Drack; another mound-of-muscle Krogan who absolutely decimates all enemies in his way. Andromeda's script is fully aware of how much the fanbase adored Wrex and had a slightly tough time acclimatising to Grunt, now building Drack as a far older, somewhat wiser Krogan covered in the bones and skeletal remains of his enemies.
Drack is that archetypal immortal warrior that's 'seen everything', and from some vicious in-cutscene headbutts to one-liners and sprinting into hordes of enemies before sending them flying, he's been my constant teammate for the majority of the game.
